The Anti-LBD

Little? Nope. Black? Nope. Dress? Well yes its still a dress but it is the new obsession with the A-listers gracing the more sophisticated red carpets of the moment. Nicole Richie made a much better style statement than her drab Marc Jacobs creation at last years Met Ball in New York in a white Vintage 1930's dress with custom House of Harlow jewellery and a daring red lip this year and she wasn't the only one working white on the red carpet. Gwyneth Paltrow certainly turned the paparazzi's heads when they saw the slit up the back of her long sleeved Pucci gown a few months ago and even Kim Kardashian chose to make her first appearance a a newly engaged woman in a draped white grecian gown at the Monaco Grand Prix. Even one of the newest breakout stars in Hollywood, Jamie Chung of The Hangover 2, chose to brave this look at the Berlin premiere of the film and pulled it off to perfection. This trend clearly doesn't have an age or size limit so i suggest you girls don't just save the long white dress for your wedding day and instead, invest in one now!

Jamie Chung added some simple Jimmy Choos and minimal jewellery to her thigh-baring dress

An unexpected look for the mum of two, but she pulls this Pucci creation off with flying colours

The soon to be Mrs Humphries is a bride-in-training in this gorgeous belted number

Pure Hollywood glamour for Nicole Richie with her cut out sleeves at this years Met Ball
